It seemed like an awfully long process just to remember one's birthday, and Faye's lips pursed as she listened, wondering Edward had last celebrated her own birthday. Likely not for years, she thought quietly, not unless Edward had brought her birthday to the attention of the kindly woman in charge of the orphanage, and something told Faye that Edward wouldn't have done such a thing. Throughout the months that they'd spent together on Bebop, Edward had never purposely called a lot of attention to herself, often taking little measures to please the others in the crew.
How different from Faye's own life, and how strangely guilt twisted at her heart at the very thought of it. Of course, she wouldn't even try to deny the fact that her own life had seen loss— but at least she'd had that time.
"Capricorn, huh. I think my sign is Leo... but I never looked very much into it. Don't believe that things are written in the stars anymore," she grinned, before breaking off a piece of her cupcake and chewing thoughtfully. "We'll have to plan something big for your next birthday."
