Edward was sad. It was an emotion she was so familiar with, she didn't even know she was feeling it, but it was there, under her skin. Faye-Faye was gone. Gone away, back home or to wherever it was that the island sent people that weren't supposed to be there anymore. And it hadn't asked Edward. No one asked Edward. And once again, Edward was alone.
She'd reset her remote, made sure it wasn't going to trigger her house today. Today, it was meant for other things. She flipped a switch on the side, and somewhere on the island an engine started. With the push of a button, pre-flight was compelted and with the press of a toggle, the Redtail rose above the treeline. With expert precision (the Redtail was much easier to control than the whole Bebop) she flew it to her new home. Her forever home now. It landed with barely a bump and Ed flicked the switch to kill the power.
She set the remote aside and headed towards the ship. It seemed so much smaller without Faye inside it. Climbing into the cockpit she just sat there, occasionally touching the controls that Faye had so expertly wielded. It wasn't the same. It was all empty and wrong.
